| On the Road with Miller |
|
- In the event of an emergency or on-the-road breakdown, Miller will secure emergency breakdown service and dispatch it to the unit. Any charges associated with this service will be settlement deducted.
- Miller has national accounts with most major tire brands, and provides that the contractor may purchase tires through this account to receive fleet pricing. All charges will be settlement deducted. Tire purchases on National account at our fleet cost with advance approval.
- Contractors are compensated for time spent while having the tank cleaned at tank washes other than the home terminal.
- Contractors are compensated for layovers in excess of 24 hours when a unit is laid over by the company.
- Miller passes 100% of all fuel surcharges to the contractor.
- Contractors are paid demurrage after 3 hours free time for loading and unloading.
- Contractors receive reimbursement of all billable tolls.
- Contractors ar compensated at the applicable % rate for most accessorial charges.
- Miller provides a Driver/Contractor referral program, in which a contractor or his employee will receive a $1000 "finder's fee" for referring a contractor or driver.
- Each tractor is required to have a Mississippi Apportioned tag licensed for 80,000 pounds. Miller will purchase the initial license and will be reimbursed by the contractor through weekly deductions from the settlement based on a 52-week allocation with no interest. Or if the contractor prefers he may purchase his tag at the time of lease.
- Contractors may request to have an equal amount deducted from the settlement each week to cover the cost of the next years tag.
